Riyadh – 10 October 2026
Omar Ali Al-Ajlani and Ayman Abdullah Al-Amri shared the honours as Riyadh brought nine days of snooker competition to a close at Ronnie’s Academy in Boulevard City. The Federation Cup and Kingdom Snooker Championship 2026 concluded on Saturday with Al-Amri claiming the Kingdom title, following Al-Ajlani’s earlier Federation Cup victory.
Organised by the Saudi Billiards and Snooker Federation from 2 to 10 October, the two tournaments followed the billiards competitions in Riyadh as part of the Kingdom Billiards and Snooker Championship 2026, which carries a total prize fund exceeding SAR 650,000. Each snooker tournament featured 24 players, accounting for 48 entries across both events, with concentration, precision and the ability to seize opportunities central to the pursuit of the titles.
The final evening belonged to Ayman Al-Amri, who defeated Abdullah Al-Shammari in the Kingdom Championship final. Having finished joint third in the Federation Cup, Al-Amri returned to take the Kingdom crown and end his campaign on a winning note.
Al-Shammari, meanwhile, demonstrated consistency by reaching both finals and finishing runner-up in each tournament. After facing Al-Ajlani in the Federation Cup decider, he returned to contest the Kingdom final against Al-Amri. He also recorded the highest documented break of the Federation Cup with 115.
Al-Ajlani had claimed the first title of the programme by winning the Federation Cup, held from 2 to 5 October, defeating Al-Shammari in the final. Musab Al-Sayegh and Ayman Al-Amri finished joint third. Al-Ajlani’s route to the trophy included victories over Musaed Al-Misfer, Ziyad Al-Qabbani and Al-Amri before he secured the title in the final.
The tournaments’ highlights extended beyond the winners. Al-Shammari’s break of 115 and Al-Amri’s 108 in the Federation Cup showcased the technical demands of century breaks: sustained accuracy, precise cue-ball control and the ability to build and convert scoring opportunities in a single visit to the table.
The Kingdom Championship also saw Ziyad Al-Qabbani reach the semi-finals following a 4–2 victory over Abdulraouf Sayegh, securing his place among the contenders in the closing stages before the title race culminated in the final between Al-Amri and Al-Shammari.
Staging the tournaments consecutively added another dimension to the competition, offering players a fresh opportunity to reset and challenge for a title. Al-Amri’s progression from joint third in the Federation Cup to Kingdom champion, alongside Al-Shammari’s two final appearances, illustrated the importance of regaining focus and maintaining performance from one match to the next.
Saudi Billiards and Snooker Federation President Naif Al-Juwaini said: “We congratulate Omar Al-Ajlani and Ayman Al-Amri on winning the Federation Cup and Kingdom Snooker Championship titles, as well as all the leading finishers, and we value the contribution of every participant. We are committed to making our domestic tournaments a foundation for raising technical standards, identifying talent and giving players regular opportunities to compete and gain experience.”
He added: “The sports sector enjoys tremendous support from the Kingdom’s leadership. At the Federation, we work to translate that support into programmes and competitions that develop billiards and snooker, broaden participation and prepare players to represent Saudi Arabia internationally. We also extend our thanks to our partners, organising teams, referees and everyone who contributed to staging these tournaments.”
As the competition concluded, Al-Ajlani and Al-Amri added their names to the edition’s roll of champions, while the matches provided valuable competitive experience for the participants, supporting the Federation’s efforts to develop players, showcase Saudi talent and strengthen preparations for future competitions.
