Federation Chairman Mr. Naif bin Mansour Al-Jawini held an important meeting with Jan Verhaas, World Snooker Tour Director of Referee Development and specialist in snooker officiating systems, to discuss cooperation and referee development in the Kingdom.
The meeting reviewed WST's advanced qualification programs, including professional courses, practical workshops and specialist development pathways to improve Saudi referees' capabilities and enable them to manage competitions to international standards.
Discussions also covered hosting joint training programs in the Kingdom and strengthening cooperation to build a specialized Saudi snooker refereeing structure aligned with WST standards.
Al-Jawini emphasized the federation's commitment to a strong refereeing system that keeps pace with domestic and international developments. He praised Jan Verhaas's experience and leadership in developing global snooker officiating.
Jan Verhaas expressed admiration for billiards and snooker's significant progress in the Kingdom and confirmed WST's readiness to support joint initiatives to qualify and empower Saudi referees.
The meeting forms part of the federation's efforts to develop Saudi personnel and expand international cooperation, strengthening the Kingdom's place in world snooker.
